Key Responsibilities
Deliver well-structured, engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 teaching available depending on experience)
Foster critical thinking, creativity, and a genuine enthusiasm for reading and writing
Contribute to the development of an inclusive and innovative English curriculum
Use formative and summative assessment effectively to track progress and inform teaching
Create a positive, supportive classroom environment where all students can thrive
Support and participate in extracurricular activities such as reading clubs, creative writing workshops, or school productions
Work collaboratively within the English department to share best practices and raise standards
What We''re Looking For
UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it
A degree in English Language, English Literature, or a closely related field
Strong subject knowledge and a confident, engaging presence in the classroom
Ability to motivate and inspire students across a range of abilities and backgrounds
Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
