Job Description:

- Delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS3 andamp; KS4), with opportunities to teach at Key Stage 5 (KS5) for the right candidate
- Inspiring students through the study of classic and contemporary texts, creative writing, and spoken language
- Embedding key literacy skills and promoting analytical thinking, and textual interpretation
- Using formative and summative assessment to track progress and inform responsive teaching
- Contributing to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities such as debating clubs, school productions, and World Book Day events
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience teaching English in a UK secondary school (desirable but not essential)
- Be passionate about literature, language, and the written word, with a flair for making texts come alive
- Demonstrate strong classroom management, high expectations, and a commitment to inclusive practice
- Be reflective, collaborative, and committed to continuous professional development
- Hold a current enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one
