Supply Desk is working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Beaconsfield to recruit a dedicated and passionate English Teacher. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, joining a supportive and collaborative department. Applications are welcome from Early Career Teachers (ECTs), experienced educators, and individuals with relevant teaching experience, even if not currently qualified.
About the Role:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities
- Inspire a passion for reading, writing, and language across all student groups
- Assess and provide feedback on student work in accordance with departmental and national standards
- Support curriculum development and contribute to enrichment activities within the English department
- Uphold high expectations for behaviour, participation, and academic achievement
- Actively participate in the broader life of the school, including events and extracurricular programmes
The ideal candidate will:
- A degree in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related field (essential)
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification (preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of the English curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4
- Excellent subject expertise and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching English
- Effective classroom management skills and strong communication abilities
- A strong commitment to inclusive education and ongoing professional development
