Supply Desk is proud to be working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Aylesburyandnbsp;to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher. This exciting opportunity begins in October 2025, initially on a long-term basis until December 2025, with strong potential for a permanent placement for the right candidate.

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, within a supportive and collaborative English department. This role is well-suited for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced practitioners. The school is also open to applications from unqualified teachers or those with relevant secondary English teaching experience.

About the Role:

• Design and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to accommodate a variety of learning styles and abilities
• Foster a passion for literature, reading, and language throughout the student community
• Assess and mark student work in accordance with departmental and national guidelines, offering timely and constructive feedback
• Uphold high expectations for behaviour, participation, and academic achievement within the classroom
• Contribute to the broader school community through involvement in parents'' evenings, educational trips, and extracurricular activities

The ideal candidate will:

• A degree in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related field (essential)
• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification (preferred)
• In-depth knowledge of the English curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Strong subject expertise combined with a genuine passion for engaging and inspiring students
• Proven classroom management skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• A commitment to inclusive teaching practices and continuous professional growth
