English Teacher (MLD School) - Chiswick - April Start - Full-Time - Temp to Perm
We are looking for a passionate and adaptable English Teacher to join a dedicated team at a specialist MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) school in Chiswick. This is a full-time position starting in April, working with students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The successful candidate will primarily deliver English lessons, with some teaching responsibilities in Humanities and Drama, supporting a broad and engaging curriculum tailored to meet the needs of learners with additional needs.
English Teacher Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
- Teach a small proportion of Humanities and Drama lessons
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs associated with MLD
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Support students'' academic progress, communication, and social development
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
- Strong understanding of differentiation and inclusive teaching practices
- Ability to engage and motivate students with additional learning needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working in an MLD or SEN setting
- Ability to teach Humanities and/or Drama
- Knowledge of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches
- Experience supporting students with additional behavioural or communication needs
