As an English Teacher, you''ll teach assigned courses, prepare students for assessments and help them progress to further study or work.

Key Responsibilities for an English Teacher:

• Plan engaging, appropriately challenging lessons and adapt teaching to individual needs.
• Prepare schemes of learning and support students through internal and external assessments.
• Use assessment and targeted interventions to improve student progress.
• Maintain accurate attendance and achievement records.
• Work effectively with learning support staff, colleagues and parents or guardians.

• A degree and postgraduate teaching qualification.
• Strong knowledge of the post-16 English curriculum.
• Experience planning engaging lessons and using assessment to support progress.
