About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a supportive English department from September 2026. An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering high-quality lessons that promote a love of literature and language while driving strong academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Assess, monitor, and track student attainment, providing timely feedback to support development
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students of varying abilities
  • Foster a love of reading, writing, and literature both inside and outside the classroom
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement initiatives
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and academic achievement
  • Participate in school events, enrichment activities, and wider departmental responsibilities

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge across English Language and English Literature
  • A proven ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire students
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • High expectations of student achievement and conduct
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
