Contract Type: Day-to-Day, Short-Term & Long-Term Supply (Part-Time & Full-Time Available)
Daily Rate: £130–£145 per day for daily supply | Paid to scale for long-term roles with PPA

We are currently seeking a passionate and adaptable Supply English Teacher (Secondary) to support schools across Lewes. Applications are warmly welcomed from experienced teachers as well as ECTs/NQTs.

About the Role
Are you a dedicated English specialist with a passion for literature and language? We are looking for an enthusiastic Supply English Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).

This flexible opportunity allows you to work in a variety of secondary school settings, building valuable experience while making a real impact in the classroom. Whether you’re seeking daily cover or a long-term vacancy, we can offer part-time or full-time opportunities to suit your availability.

There is also potential for permanent opportunities for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach both English Language and English Literature to a high standard.
• Adapt quickly to different classroom environments and follow each school’s curriculum.
• Maintain strong classroom management and promote a positive learning environment.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress in line with school policies.
• Communicate effectively with staff, pupils and parents where required.

Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.
• Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach.
• A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
