English & Functional Skills Tutor - Maghull & Lydiate, Sefton

Prospero Teaching is recruiting an enthusiastic English and Functional Skills Tutor to support learners across Maghull, Lydiate and the surrounding Sefton areas.

You''ll help students strengthen their literacy, develop practical English skills and work towards meaningful educational qualifications through engaging, personalised tuition.

Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored English and Functional Skills sessions.
Support reading, writing, spelling, grammar and comprehension.
Plan lessons around individual abilities and learning targets.
Encourage learner independence, confidence and engagement.
Adapt resources and approaches to meet additional learning needs.
Monitor progress and support learners in achieving their goals.

Experience, Training and Qualifications:
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
Strong English and literacy subject knowledge.
UK classroom teaching experience.
Experience supporting students with SEND, complex needs or disengagement from education.
Be creative, patient and willing to think outside the box.

To be eligible for this role, the English & Functional Skills Tutor must:
Hold the right to work in the UK.
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application.
Provide two professional child-related references.
