Engineering Technician

Your new company We are looking for a practical, hands-on Engineering Technician to join a busy port operation, supporting the safe, reliable and efficient running of key operational equipment and site facilities. The role will involve planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding and repairs across cranes, gates, mechanical systems and general facilities, helping to keep the port operational around the clock.This is a varied role suited to someone with a strong mechanical engineering background and some electrical ability, or an electrical technician with sound mechanical experience. You will be working as part of a shift-based engineering team in a fast-paced industrial environment where safety, reliability and quick response times are essential.Your new role Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections and servicing on port equipment, including cranes, gates, barriers and associated mechanical and electrical systems.Respond promptly to breakdowns, faults and operational issues, diagnosing problems and carrying out effective repairs to minimise disruption to port activities.Support the maintenance and repair of site facilities, including lighting, doors, water systems, small plant, fixtures and general building services.Assist with the safe operation, preparation and availability of port infrastructure and equipment to support vessel, cargo and site operations.Undertake mechanical repairs, adjustments and replacement of components such as gearboxes, bearings, ..... full job details .....
