Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 + Bonus & Benefits (Depending on Experience)

Role Overview:
Zenovo are looking for an experienced Engineering Team Lead to join their client in Cambridge and lead the technical development of next-generation connected devices.
The ideal candidate will have multidisciplinary experience across electronics, embedded systems, wireless communications and IoT, with a proven ability to take complex products from concept through to mass production.
You’ll define technical direction, guide architecture and coordinate engineering activities across the full product lifecycle, working closely with Product, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, suppliers and external partners.
This is an individual contributor leadership role, with significant ownership of technical strategy and product execution, influencing outcomes through engineering expertise, collaboration and technical leadership.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead multidisciplinary technical decisions across electronics, embedded software, wireless, mechanical and system integration.
- Manage Product performance, reliability, battery life, cost, manufacturability whilst adhering to customer requirements.
- Assess technical feasibility, complexity and risk for new features, technologies and future product developments.
- Define validation strategies, acceptance criteria and system-level verification activities.
- Lead technical delivery from concept through development, validation, launch and ongoing product support.
- Coordinate engineering activities across internal teams, suppliers and external development partners, ensuring clear milestones, dependencies, risks and communication.
- Support product strategy and continuous improvement through field data, customer feedback, technical analysis and input into roadmap and future technology decisions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems or a related discipline.
- 10+ years’ experience developing multidisciplinary, connected or technology-led products.
- Experience with wireless, IoT and connected device architectures.
- Broad engineering knowledge across electronics, embedded systems, mechanical and system integration.
- Proven track record taking products from concept through development, validation and mass production.
- Strong systems thinking, problem-solving and technical decision-making skills, supported by data and analysis.
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and external partners without direct line-management responsibility.
- Strong product development, technical risk, validation, manufacturing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
