Engineering Stores Assistant

• -32,448 per year (equivalent to -16.00 per hour)
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half: -24.00 per hour
• Permanent Position, located in the Cambourne area
• 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• 07:30 start with an early finish every Friday (12:00 midday)
• Rural / out-of-town location - own transport required
• Engineering stores / manufacturing environment - forklift licence advantageous

The Role

We''re recruiting an Engineering Stores Assistant to support a busy engineering stores function within a manufacturing environment. You''ll be responsible for ensuring parts and materials are received, stored, controlled and issued accurately to support production.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving goods, checking paperwork, booking items in and putting stock away
• Picking and issuing parts/materials to production and engineering teams
• Stock control: location management, stock checks and cycle counts
• Maintaining accurate records using stock systems/paperwork
• General stores/warehouse housekeeping and safe manual handling
• Forklift operation (where trained/licenced)

What We''re Looking For

• Proven stores and material handling experience
• Background in a manufacturing / engineering stores / warehouse environment
• Forklift certificate/licence is an advantage, but training can be arranged
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and basic IT skills
• Own transport essential due to rural location

Working Hours (39 hours/week)

• Monday: 07:30 - 16:00
• Tuesday: 07:30 - 16:30
• Wednesday: 07:30 - 17:00
• Thursday: 07:30 - 17:00
• Friday: 07:30 - 12:00
