Engineering Shift Manager

A leading food manufacturer is seeking an Engineering Shift Manager to join their engineering team. Working a 4-on-4-off days and nights shift pattern, you''ll be responsible for driving engineering best practices across the shift, supporting the development of engineers, and maintaining high standards of engineering performance. Salary £53,000 to £61,000 plus Benefits 

4 on 4 off days & nights shift pattern

What You Will Do:

- Lead and manage a team of Engineers and Apprentices to ensure smooth operations during shifts.

- Oversee the engineering performance of fast-moving production lines, ensuring equipment set-up, shut-down, and output performance meet standards.

- Ensure a safe working environment by assessing maintenance procedures and implementing best practices.

- Manage stock allocation and replacement parts in collaboration with the engineering planner and operations manager.

- Drive training and development initiatives for your team, conducting regular one-to-one meetings and agreeing on personal development plans.

- Support and lead improvement projects, ensuring high standards in workshop and factory areas.

What You Will Bring:

- Minimum HNC certification or Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering.

- Proven experience in leading engineering teams within a manufacturing environment.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure and motivate teams.

- Practical hands-on engineering expertise and familiarity with process machinery.

- Desirable qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH, IEE 17th or 18th Edition, and PLC or refrigeration experience.
