Engineering Managers lead complex technical projects to deliver on our product roadmap. You will manage a group of engineers, identify issues, implement creative solutions, and influence product strategy. We welcome candidates who enjoy switching between engineering management and hands-on technical work.Responsibilities

Collaborate with Product Management and Client Services to define and deliver the product roadmap.Actively participate in technical discussions and design reviews.Measure your team’s impact and contribute to engineering-wide initiatives (e.g., recruitment, team processes).Develop engineers in your team and support their career growth.Lead by example through code reviews and hands-on technical work.Contribute to product strategy and align engineering efforts with business goals.Requirements

2+ years of engineering management experience leading product-aligned teams.Experience with cloud-native environments and modern stacks (microservices, Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS/GCP, Golang/Python) similar to Thought Machine’s stack.Technical background to drive decisions with strong interpersonal skills for Product Managers and client stakeholders. Comfortable with high responsibility and autonomy.Ability to adapt to different Engineering Manager roles as the team evolves.Knowledge of banking/finance and interest in client-facing projects, scoping, and defining deliverables.Experience recruiting and shaping engineering teams and defining/evaluating effective team processes.Experience working in a hypergrowth environment.Salary and benefits: highly competitive salary, pension (match up to 7%), life insurance (three times annual salary), generous maternity/paternity/shared parental leave, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, private health insurance with family coverage, health cash plan (dental/optical), electric car scheme, season ticket loan, learning resources, and various wellness perks.Benefits and Perks
