Engineering ManagerSheffield Up to 60,000 PermanentShillito Group are recruiting for an Engineering Manager to join an established engineering business designing and manufacturing specialist products for hazardous and demanding environments.This is a true hands on leadership role.They need someone who can lead the engineering team, take ownership of product development and get involved in the detail when needed.A big part of the role is hazardous area compliance, so experience with ATEX, IECEx or similar standards is going to matter.You will be responsible for:Leading and developing the engineering teamTaking ownership of product development projects from concept through to launchDesigning and developing new products around customer and market requirementsManaging product certification and keeping existing approvals compliantWorking with standards including ATEX, IECEx, UKEX and other international approvalsArranging product testing and working through technical or certification issuesSupporting Sales with more complex customer requirementsWorking closely with Production and Quality to make sure products can be manufactured properlyProducing and approving technical drawings and product documentationDriving improvements across engineering processes and product developmentThey are looking for someone with a strong engineering background who has worked around product design, development or RandD.
