Engineering Manager

My client is an engineering design consultancy working closely with a wide range of clients, across a number of disciplines within the UK rail and utilities industries. Full time role from the Manchester Office with occasional site visits for which travel expenses will be paid.Hybrid working possible when required provided agreed in advance. Can be contract (outside IR35) or permanent role. Responsibilities:Direct and develop multi-disciplinary engineers, CAD technicians and graduatesIdentify and implement appropriate, safe, efficient and value-engineered design solutions and communicate these to client and project teamsAct as Professional Head for design functionGuide design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards and approve design packagesIdentify and implement appropriate software packages, and drive the use of BIM and 3D modelling where necessaryManage production of design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements and are fully integratedReview, interpret and brief standards, procedures and changes to themManage production of design deliverables within agreed timescales and hours and to formal processes and proceduresEnsure project change for design packages is fully recordedLead the estimating of hours required for design packages Essentials:10 years'' experience working in the regulated water industryGraduate or HNDGood level ITChartered engineerDesire to take a leading role in the engineering design team ..... full job details .....
