Engineering Manager

at GoodFit, you’ll focus on building and nurturing a high-performing engineering team that delivers great products. Lead, mentor, and coach a team of engineers, supporting career growth, goal setting, and regular performance feedbackBuild and maintain a strong team culture based on trust, inclusion, and psychological safetyHelp engineers focus by clarifying objectives, aligning priorities, and removing blockersFacilitate effective team rituals (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives, 1:1s) and continually refine processes for better collaboration and flowSupport hiring and onboarding, ensuring every new team member is set up for successIdentify and nurture future leaders, creating opportunities for skill development and career progressionProvide clear, timely communication to leadership on team health, progress, and risksEncourage a culture of continuous improvement by promoting feedback loops, knowledge sharing, and professional developmentRepresent engineering in cross-functional planning and help balance product needs with team well-beingWe\''d love to hear from you if you have:

5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years managing or leading engineering teamsA proven track record of building healthy, motivated, and effective teams in a SaaS or startup environmentExcellent people management skills—you care deeply about individual growth and team dynamicsStrong communication and facilitation skills, able to create alignment across engineering, product, and leadershipExperience with hiring, onboarding, and performance management during periods of growthFamiliarity with modern agile practices and delivery processes, and a pragmatic approach to continuous improvementA passion for coaching and mentoring, helping others succeed and reach their potentialComfort operating in a remote-first or distributed team environmentWhy you\''ll love working at GoodFit:
