Our client in Stafford, is looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their maintenance team while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day engineering and maintenance of the site.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role, or an established Engineering Manager who enjoys being on the tools and leading by example.
Details of this Engineering Manager role:
As the Hands-On Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering function while working alongside the team to ensure machinery and equipment are maintained to the highest standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, motivating and supporting the engineering team.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Minimising downtime and ensuring production runs efficiently.
- Ensuring engineering work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
- Assisting with the installation, servicing and maintenance of specialist dairy and milking equipment.
- Working closely with production to maximise machine performance and reliability.
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Engineering leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong Mechanical and/or Electrical maintenance experience.
- 18th Edition qualification (essential).
- Previous experience within an FMCG, food manufacturing or production environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong leadership abilities.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Starting salary of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum.
- Salary review and increase once fully trained on the site's specialist milking machinery.
- Weekly pay every Friday.
- 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.
- Flexible 12-hour shifts with start times between 3:00am and 9:00am.
