Engineering Manager - Manchester Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite Duration: 6 months *Urgent 6 Month Contract* This is a *Manchester, UK* based role with an excellent immediate start within a Global Technology Client that is working on *Leading, coaching and developing Software/Full Stack Engineers.* The Role Our client is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong Java/Full Stack background to lead and develop a software engineering team in Manchester. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach and develop Software/Full Stack Engineers. Provide technical leadership across Java, Spring Boot and full-stack applications. Support architecture, design decisions and technical direction. Partner with Product to deliver high-quality software. Drive standards across code quality, testing, CI/CD and production readiness. Manage technical risks, dependencies and technical debt. Promote engineering ownership, accountability and continuous improvement. Essential Experience Strong Java/Full Stack engineering background. Commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot. Experience with microservices, APIs and distributed systems. Previous Engineering Manager/Software Engineering Manager experience. Proven people-management, coaching and mentoring experience. Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices. Cloud experience, ideally AWS.
