Job Overview:

A Tier 1 contractor delivering key infrastructure under the AMP8 framework is looking to appoint an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the technical delivery of clean and wastewater projects for South West Water. This role is critical to ensuring the effective coordination of multi-disciplinary engineering teams and ensuring technical excellence across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all engineering functions across the AMP8 portfolio for South West Water.

• Oversee the design, technical review, and delivery of mechanical, electrical, civil, and process engineering works.

• Act as the primary point of contact for technical matters with the client, design teams, and delivery partners.

• Ensure technical compliance with all regulatory and contract requirements, including CDM, WIMES, and Water Industry standards.

• Support planning, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

• Lead engineering governance, including design reviews, HAZOPs, and value engineering workshops.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree-qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent).

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working toward chartership - desirable.

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Senior Engineer within the water sector, preferably on AMP frameworks.

• Background working with or for Tier 1 contractors on water and utilities projects - essential.

• Strong technical leadership and coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams.

• In-depth knowledge of UK water industry standards, including WIMES, CDM Regulations, and DWI compliance.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
