Engineering Manager

Location: Farnborough, Hampshire

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a world-leading manufacturer of high-reliability sensors used in aerospace, defence, space, and industrial applications.

This leadership role is ideal for someone with strong engineering management experience in regulated environments, ready to drive innovation, NPI, and cross-functional delivery within a global business.

Main Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager (based in Farnborough):

  • Lead engineering activities including bids, innovation, NPI, sustaining engineering, and test & qualification
  • Drive design and project management activities aligned to business strategy and budgets
  • Serve as the technical focal point for internal stakeholders, suppliers, and aerospace customers
  • Define and implement product development roadmaps in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Evaluate and manage innovation projects to meet technical, time, and cost objectives
  • Provide leadership and direction for engineering teams and succession planning
  • Represent the UK business in global initiatives and coordinate with international R&D and manufacturing hubs
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and technical excellence throughout the design lifecycle
  • Develop and improve BMS engineering procedures and foster best practices across the business
  • Actively contribute to IP/patent management in line with group directives

Requirements of the Engineering Manager (based in Farnborough):

  • Degree-qualified in engineering or physics (1st or 2:1 honours minimum); master''s or chartership desirable
  • Strong leadership background in aerospace or similar high-reliability sectors
  • Proven experience across product design, development, and qualification in regulated industries
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage cross-functional and international teams
  • Confident in customer and supplier engagement, roadmap planning, and resource management
  • Familiar with EASA, AS9100, and aerospace design assurance processes
  • Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused with a strong sense of ownership
  • TOEIC score of 800+ or equivalent English proficiency for non-native speakers
