About the Role

Supply Desk is seeking an experienced Marine Engineering / Engineering Lecturer to provide temporary cover at a well-established college campus in the New Forest.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional or lecturer to deliver both classroom and practical workshop-based teaching to students studying Marine Technology and Level 2 Engineering programmes.

The role is expected to continue until around November/December 2026, although the duration may be shorter or extended depending on requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging Level 2 Engineering and Marine Technology sessions.

  • Teach across both classroom and practical workshop environments.

  • Support students working towards their engineering qualifications.

  • Prepare learners for practical assessments.

  • Adapt schemes of work to meet learner and curriculum requirements.

  • Develop engaging learning resources and activities.

  • Assess and monitor student progress.

  • Complete planning, preparation, assessment and marking associated with the role.

  • Maintain a safe, professional and engaging workshop environment.

Candidate Requirements
  • Experience delivering Level 2 Engineering qualifications.

  • Experience of the Performing Engineering Operations (PEO/NVQ) qualification would be highly desirable.

  • Strong practical workshop and classroom teaching experience.

  • Confident managing and supporting classes of approximately 20 students.

  • Good understanding of Marine Engineering / Marine Technology.

  • Ability to adapt schemes of work and create appropriate learning resources.

  • Experience preparing students for practical assessments.

  • Familiarity with CANVAS or MOODLE would be advantageous.

  • Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills.

  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
