Direct message the job poster from ThalesAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Delivery Manager within Thales Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME).This role will be on at least one of our significant development and production projects within OME. As an Engineering Delivery Manager you will work in collaboration with the Programme Managers, the Engineering Delivery Lead, the Head of Engineering Delivery and the wider engineering team to ensure delivery of the engineering development projects.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following, aligned to the Thales Leadership Behavioural Model:acting with agility to ensure that the business objectives remain in focusdealing with multiple strands of complexity to achieve business objectivesengaging with stakeholders to achieve a common goalcreating a competitive advantage by managing risk, identifying opportunities and fostering continuous improvementsupporting the development of others to ensure we continuously improve for our customersResponsibilities
leading high performing, multi-discipline engineering teams to generate engineering solutions that meet the Customer needsthe definition of the engineering delivery strategy and resource profile based on the engineering estimates to ensure the delivery of the projectmanaging the interfaces with the overall delivery strategy for the wider programmedefining the organisation and work breakdown, with the Programme Manager, required to deliver to the Customer needsdefining and being in charge of meeting cost, schedule and quality of the whole engineering delivery for the programmedefining the engineering team’s work packages in terms of resources required, budgets assigned to each task, risks and assumptions on these and the timescales to deliver withinthe planning and prioritisation of activities required to deliver the solution to the contract schedule, costs and qualityday to day management of the engineering team’s activities ensuring proactive management of issues, opportunities and risksmanaging and reporting of the engineering efficiency for the projectthe identification of re-use opportunities across the projectact as the People Manager for the engineering team on the project and provide feedback into the people manager reviews with the functional discipline leadsQualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering with experience in successfully defining and leading the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering projects. They will be highly customer focused with excellent communication skills and have the ability to work in a fast moving environment with multiple parallel objectives and have an understanding of systems engineering life cycle, practices and tools.
