As a dedicated engineering recruiter, I''m currently supporting a highly respected organisation in the defence and engineering sector that is looking to strengthen its technical team. We''re seeking an experienced Engine Fitter / Mechanical Technician to join their specialist workshop in Coventry.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background, particularly in engine fitting or remanufacturing, who takes pride in precision work and thrives in a structured, quality-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and strip down mechanical products in line with detailed work instructions.
- Follow all MOD-specific requirements, including component traceability and strip/survey reporting.
- Evaluate components for serviceability and determine suitability for reuse or replacement.
- Accurately record additional Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements and job documentation.
- Rebuild and test products to OE or AESP specifications.
- Report faults and escalate issues to the Workshop Supervisor as needed.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship while working efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Ensure full compliance with company health & safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Record daily job activities using the internal E10 system.
What We''re Looking For:
- Previous experience in engine fitting, mechanical assembly, or remanufacturing roles.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a keen eye for detail.
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel-or a willingness to learn.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to continuously improve.
