Enforcement Officer

Honeycomb is delighted to be working with a large public sector organisation to recruit an Enforcement Officer based in Newtownabbey.The RoleAs an Enforcement Officer, you''ll play a vital role in protecting the local environment, promoting animal welfare, and keeping our communities safe and clean. This position involves investigating complaints, enforcing legislation, and engaging with the public through proactive enforcement, community engagement and education.Key ResponsibilitiesEnforce environmental legislation relating to littering, fly-tipping, dog fouling, graffiti and fly-posting.Investigate complaints and issue fixed penalty notices or recommend legal action where appropriate.Carry out patrols to detect, prevent and address environmental offences.Enforce dog control legislation, investigating unlicensed dogs, straying and dog attacks.Respond to out-of-hours incidents involving stray dogs, dog attacks and livestock worrying.Support animal welfare investigations and carry out inspections of dog breeding establishments.Conduct inspections and enforce smoke-free legislation in premises.Investigate abandoned vehicles and assist with their removal.Prepare and serve statutory notices, gather evidence and compile reports for potential prosecution.Prepare for and attend court, including presenting evidence and liaising with legal representatives.Maintain accurate records, case files and enforcement documentation.Provide advice and guidance to the public on environmental ..... full job details .....
