About the RoleWe are seeking a Consultant level candidate (2+ years professional experience or PhD) who can deliver our broad range of energy consulting commissions, with a particular interest in candidates with a highly technical background and modelling capability.
The ideal candidate will have an academic background in a highly quantitative degree (e.g. engineering, physics), energy systems expertise, and modelling skills (spreadsheet and code). While preference is for candidates with professional experience, those coming straight from a relevant PhD will be considered. You will contribute to the delivery of projects via the production of models and analysis. In addition to technical work, you will contribute to non-technical tasks such as bid writing, stakeholder engagement and qualitative research. We are a small consultancy, so we all wear many hats. You will also support the growth of our business by helping to deliver on wider commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities
Research, modelling, and analysis across a range of energy and net zero projects
Data analysis, including GIS, Excel, and potentially Python or other programming languages
Producing high-quality reports and presentations for clients
Supporting the growth of our energy and net zero offering and portfolio of projects; supporting and leading tender delivery as appropriate
Essential Requirements
Relevant work experience (2+ years or PhD)
Demonstrable technical knowledge across energy systems
Excel skills, coding, GIS and data visualisation
Strong technical writing capability and the ability to produce high-quality client reports
Professional, consultative and collaborative approach
Ability to communicate technical outputs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Degree in a technical or scientific field (e.g., engineering, physics)
Desirable Requirements
Experience with District Heat Networks
Experience with Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategies (LHEES)
Experience with Local Area Energy Planning (LAEP)
Advanced Python and GIS
Masters or PhD in a highly technical field
