About the Role
The Employment Solicitor, based in London, will join a recognised national team advising on varied employment and HR issues. This full-time role, offering a salary between £60,000 and £80,000 dependent on experience, requires at least three years’ post-qualification experience. Responsibilities include delivering practical, commercially focused guidance on disciplinary and grievance procedures, restructures, senior exits, and safeguarding matters. You will also draft and review employment contracts, policies, and staff handbooks, building long-term client relationships. The position involves handling employment aspects of academy conversions, mergers, and governance changes. A strong grasp of current employment law is essential for this role.

THE ROLE:
You will provide practical, commercially focused advice on a broad range of employment matters, including day-to-day HR issues, disciplinary and grievance procedures, safeguarding-related employment matters, senior appointments and exits, restructures, and the employment aspects of academy conversions, mergers and governance changes. In addition, you will draft and review employment contracts, policies and staff handbooks, while developing strong, long-term relationships with governors, headteachers, bursars, Chief Operating Officers and other senior leadership teams.
THE CANDIDATE:
Applications are welcomed from Solicitors with a minimum of 3 Years' PQE in Employment Law. Previous experience advising education sector clients would be advantageous, although candidates with a genuine interest in developing a specialism within the education sector are equally encouraged to apply. You will have strong technical and drafting skills, a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach, excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted client relationships.
