      <description>Location: London | Salary: &amp;pound;56000 - &amp;pound;59000/annum | Type: Permanent | We are currently recruiting for an Employment Lawyer to join a friendly and supportive legal team in a London Council. The initial contract is for 12 months, with a view to becoming a permanent role.   This is a full-time role and will require office attendance twice per week.  The successful Employment Lawyer will have knowledge of employment law and experience of working in a similar role so they can hit the ground running. Local government or public sector experience is desirable, but not essential.   Duties include but are not limited to:    Representing the Council before the Employment Tribunal (CMHs)  Providing advice on matters such as restructuring, TUPE  Working closely with senior managers and stakeholders on a range of employment law disputes  Providing employment law advice  Handling a caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters (dismissals, discrimination, etc)  Settlement agreements   This role would be suited to a Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister, who is confident dealing with a mixed Employment caseload.
