Employer Funding and Risk Lead

We are seeking an experienced Employer Funding and Risk Lead to support a major Local Government Pension Fund in proactively managing employer-related financial, funding and covenant risks. This is a specialist opportunity for a pensions professional with a strong understanding of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), employer funding arrangements and financial risk management. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring the financial health and changing circumstances of participating employers, identifying emerging risks and recommending appropriate mitigation measures to safeguard the Fund''s long-term financial sustainability. Working closely with senior pension fund leadership, actuarial advisers and other professional stakeholders, you will provide expert analysis, advice and oversight across employer funding and risk matters. Key Responsibilities Proactively identify, assess and manage funding, financial and covenant risks associated with participating employers. Monitor changes in employer circumstances, financial standing, organisational structures and relevant legislation that may affect individual employer or overall Fund risk profiles. Assess employer funding positions, pension liabilities and potential financial exposures, working closely with actuarial and professional advisers.
