The Advocate Group are recruiting on behalf of a globally recognised consumer branded business for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join their HR team on a 6-month FTC basis.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing organisation where you''ll play a key role in delivering expert Employee Relations support across a diverse and fast-paced business. Working closely with managers and HR colleagues, you''ll provide commercially focused advice, manage complex ER casework and support organisational change initiatives.

 

The Role

As an Employee Relations Advisor, you''ll be responsible for managing a broad range of complex and sensitive employee relations matters while ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes. You''ll partner with stakeholders across the business, providing pragmatic guidance that balances employee experience with commercial objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a high volume of complex Employee Relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, conduct, harassment and discrimination matters.
  • Provide expert advice to managers and HR teams on employment law, company policy and ER best practice.
  • Lead and support investigations, hearings and formal consultation processes.
  • Assess risk and recommend practical, commercially balanced solutions.
  • Support organisational change programmes, including restructures, redundancies and organisational design initiatives.
  • Coach and develop managers to build confidence and capability in handling employee relations matters.
  • Identify trends through case analysis and contribute to continuous improvement of ER policies and processes.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal governance.

 

About You

We''re looking for an experienced Employee Relations professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex people challenges.

 

You''ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience managing high-volume, complex Employee Relations casework.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and Employee Relations best practice.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • The ability to balance commercial priorities with fair and consistent decision-making.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence handling sensitive conversations and navigating ambiguity.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and restructuring activity.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
