OverviewEmployability Data and Systems Manager (Part-time 0.6fte)

The University’s Careers and Employability team provides a wide range of services and support to help students at all levels explore and develop their career potential. Having effective and available systems and data is crucial to our activity and this role is key to both. Managers and colleagues across the team rely on the provision of accurate data, and on the stability of our careers service systems, online tools and web content, to be able to shape and deliver the services our students need.

Closing Date: 30 September 2025 | Working Pattern: 60%, working days to be agreed with the successful candidate

Responsibilities

Manage one data analyst and a systems and website specialist to contribute to the ongoing development of services to students and other stakeholders by providing regular reports and your own insights.

Ensure the provision of accurate data and the stability of careers service systems, online tools and web content to shape and deliver the services students need.

Lead as our systems lead, working with the university’s central IT Services team to manage supplier relationships and explore enhancements to the systems and tools used.

Utilise SQL to access and manipulate data and present data visualisations, dashboards and reports using tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.

Provide leadership within the data and systems team and support the careers and employability leadership group with information to inform decision making and service design.

Play a pivotal role in informing and supporting the team-wide ambition to provide the best possible support and guidance to students and graduates.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience in data analysis and systems management, with the ability to manipulate data using SQL.

Proficiency in presenting data visualisations, dashboards and reports using PowerBI or Tableau.

Experience in working with IT services and supplier relationship management.

Strong leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across teams.
