Are you an experienced Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) looking for your next opportunity?

Academics is currently recruiting an experienced ELSA to work within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the Merthyr Tydfil area. We are also experiencing high demand for ELSA-trained individuals across a number of PRUs and primary schools, with a range of opportunities available.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting pupils'' emotional wellbeing, helping them overcome barriers to learning and building positive relationships through trauma-informed practices.

• Delivering targeted emotional literacy interventions to support pupils'' social and emotional development.

• Supporting pupils who may have experienced trauma or face emotional and behavioural challenges.

• Using trauma-informed practices to build trust, promote emotional regulation and develop positive relationships.

• Helping pupils develop coping strategies, resilience and confidence.

• Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals to support individual pupil needs.

• Creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for pupils.

• Previous experience working as an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) is essential.

• Experience delivering emotional literacy interventions to children and young people.

• An understanding of trauma-informed practices and the impact of adverse experiences on behaviour and learning.

• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.

• The ability to build trusting relationships with pupils who may have complex emotional needs.

• A Team Teach qualification would be highly desirable.

• -94100 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

• Enhanced DBS certificate required.

• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) required.
