Location: HA9 0FJ Wembley
Rate of pay: -21.41 PAYE or -28.19 Umbrella per hour
Contract: Temporary till end of November

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Emergency Housing Officer to manage emergency accommodation placements for households in housing need. The role involves arranging placements, managing tenancy and rent accounts, liaising with accommodation providers, and supporting vulnerable residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and manage emergency accommodation placements.
• Create and maintain placements, properties, tenancies, and rent accounts.
• Process move-ins, move-ons, and accommodation terminations.
• Prepare and manage housing documentation, including licence agreements and tenancy documents.
• Monitor rent accounts, arrears, and housing benefit matters.
• Liaise with landlords, accommodation providers, and internal teams.
• Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and correspondence.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
• Support vulnerable residents with empathy and professionalism.

Essential Requirements

Experience

• Previous experience in Temporary Accommodation, Homelessness, or Housing Needs.
• Experience supporting vulnerable residents in a customer-facing environment.

Systems Knowledge (Essential)

• Strong working knowledge of:
  • NEC Housing (placements, rent accounts, bookings, property creation)
  • CRM
  • Locata

Knowledge

• Good understanding of housing and homelessness legislation.
• Knowledge of:
  • Section 188 and Section 193 duties
  • Licence Agreements
  • Non-Secure Tenancies
  • Housing Benefit processes

Skills

• Strong IT skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good command of the English language.
• Strong interpersonal skills with empathy, patience, and resilience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
