Embedded Controls Engineer

Avanti Recruitment is working with a specialist engineering company that designs and manufactures advanced scientific equipment used in research and industrial RandD. They are looking for an Embedded Controls Engineer to help develop the next generation of their control systems. This is an RandD-focused position centred around embedded C/C++, microcontrollers and electronics. The company is at an early stage of moving towards a new embedded control architecture, giving the successful engineer genuine input into how future systems are designed and developed. The Role Develop embedded software using C/C++ Develop control systems around microcontrollers Help define new embedded software architecture Integrate software with electronics and physical hardware Test, debug and validate complex equipment Support new product development Diagnose software and hardware issues Work closely with the wider engineering team What We''re Looking For Strong embedded C/C++ and microcontroller experience is the priority, alongside a good understanding of electronics and hardware integration. You should be comfortable reading schematics and ideally have experience developing embedded products rather than solely maintaining existing systems. Experience with PCB design, Git, MISRA C, IEC 61508, PID control, scientific equipment or industrial control systems would be beneficial but is not essential.
