Our client in Devizes is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Test Technician to join their dynamic team. This is a hands-on role, focused on diagnosing and repairing electronic and electromechanical assemblies at the component level.

Electronics Test Technician Roles and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose faults and repair PCBs and electronic assemblies, often with limited documentation
• Read circuit diagrams and identify components: resistors, capacitors, transistors (BJT/FET), op-amps, comparators, logic gates. Familiarity with microprocessors, memory, I/O, and programmable logic is a plus
• Recognise circuit types (oscillators, power supplies/converters, amplifiers) and differentiate analogue vs. digital circuits
• Perform professional soldering/desoldering of surface-mount and through-hole components
• Use common test equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, and bench power supplies
• Independently diagnose and replace faulty components; collaboration on approach is encouraged, but technicians are expected to work autonomously
• Maintain accurate computer-based records and test repaired units to ensure reliability

Electronics Test Technician Ideal Candidate:

• Hands-on experience in component-level fault finding and repair is essential; relevant electronics qualifications are advantageous
• Strong understanding of electronic components, circuit operation, and the ability to identify and repair both analogue and digital circuits
• Able to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative, problem-solving skills, and good judgment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Knowledge of embedded software/firmware is useful but not required
• Excellent communicator, comfortable with computer-based record keeping

Electronics Test Technician Working Hours:

• Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (37.5 hours per week)
• Company pension
