Working: The role offers flexible working but does require engineers on site for 3 days per week and is a on secure site where SC clearance is needed.

A company backed by a record multi-year order book, offering long-term stability and sustained investment, with years of secured work ahead!We are seeking an Electronics Failure Analysis Engineer to play a key role in diagnosing, analysing, and resolving hardware component issues. Working across complex electronic systems, from development through to production and ongoing support, you will combine hands-on fault-finding, laboratory investigation, root cause analysis, and production support while continuing to develop your technical expertise.

As part of a specialist electronics engineering team, you will work closely with experts in PCB technology, component engineering, design, manufacturing, and testing. The team provides technical support across a wide range of programmes and collaborates with international colleagues on the development of emerging technologies in PCB design, manufacture, and assembly. This role offers the opportunity to build a diverse and highly sought-after technical skill set.

Responsibilities:

Working alongside experienced Technical Experts and Technologists, you will support the expansion of the component failure analysis function by:

• Investigating component failures using fault-finding techniques, laboratory analysis, and collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, testing, and design teams.
• Supporting the development, evaluation, and implementation of new failure analysis processes and equipment, working with both internal and external partners in the UK and internationally.
• Applying an understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and PCB assembly techniques to identify factors that contribute to component and system failures.
• Undertaking ongoing technical training, both internally and externally, to broaden your knowledge and expertise.
• Producing technical reports and contributing to standards and best practices within national and international engineering teams.

The team plays a critical role in supporting all aspects of PCB technology, working closely with stakeholders to deliver technical solutions and meet project objectives within agreed timescales.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Fault-finding and diagnosing circuit card assemblies to component level using electronic test equipment.
• Managing technical work packages while balancing cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
• An understanding of electronic design principles, component specifications, PCB manufacturing, and sub-assembly production processes.
• A proven track record of delivering work on time, supported by strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous.
