Our client is a growing mobility and care equipment company providing installation, servicing, maintenance and repair solutions across London and the South East.

We are looking for an experienced and reliable ELECTROMECHANICAL INSTALLATION / MAINTENANCE ENGINEER or Mobility Equipment Engineer to join our team. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems and providing a high standard of customer service.

The Role

You will be responsible for servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of a range of mobility and care equipment, with opportunities to become involved in installation work as your skills develop.

The majority of the work will be across London and the South East, although occasional travel to other areas may be required.

You will work in customers' homes, care homes and other healthcare environments, often supporting elderly and vulnerable individuals.

Our product range includes:

Stairlifts

Care home beds

Hoists and patient lifting equipment

Through-floor lifts

Platform lifts

Other mobility and care equipment

Experience across all of these product areas would be advantageous, but is not essential. We are particularly interested in engineers with experience across some of these products who have the right attitude and are keen to expand their knowledge.

Installation Experience

Previous installation experience is not essential for this position.

We are open to engineers who have strong maintenance, servicing, fault-finding or repair experience and are willing to learn and develop their installation skills.

Full training and on-the-job experience can be provided where required. The most important qualities are a willingness to learn, a practical approach, good problem-solving skills and the ability to work safely and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Planned preventative maintenance and servicing
Reactive breakdowns and repair callouts
Fault-finding and diagnosis
Installation of mobility and care equipment, with training provided where required
Completing service, repair and installation reports
Carrying out work safely and in accordance with relevant regulations and manufacturer requirements

Providing professional and respectful customer service

Working within customers' homes and care home environments

Communicating effectively with customers, carers, care home staff and colleagues

Taking photographs and completing accurate job documentation

Using mobile technology to complete job reports and update work records

Participating in the company's on-call rota

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

Previous experience within the mobility, lift, healthcare, engineering or care equipment industry

Experience in maintenance, servicing and/or reactive repair work

Experience with some of our product range would be advantageous

Good practical and fault-finding skills

A willingness to learn new products and installation techniques

A positive and open-minded approach to training and development

Excellent customer service skills

Experience working with elderly and/or vulnerable people

Experience working in customers' homes and/or care home environments

Good verbal and written communication skills

The ability to work independently and manage your own workload

The ability to use smartphones/tablets and technology for job reporting

A clean driving licence, although applicants with a minimal number of points may also be considered

Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota

A willingness to travel when required

An enhanced DBS check will be carried out as part of the recruitment process due to the nature of the role and regular work within care environments and with vulnerable customers.
