      <description>Location: Banbury | Salary: Negotiable | Type: Permanent | The  Electromagnetic Engineer  will lead the development of advanced electric traction motors, taking ownership of electromagnetic design activities from concept through to production. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will develop innovative motor solutions while balancing performance, efficiency, thermal requirements, manufacturability and cost.  This role is suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys combining first-principles engineering with simulation and practical development to solve complex electrification challenges.     The  Electromagnetic Engineer  will be responsible for:     Leading the electromagnetic design and optimisation of electric traction motors from concept through to production.   Developing and evaluating machine topologies including Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM), Electrically Excited Synchronous Machines (EESM) and hybrid machine architectures.   Creating electromagnetic models using analytical calculations and finite element analysis (FEA)   Taking ownership of motor performance characteristics including torque, efficiency, losses, field weakening and NVH.
