We are looking to recruit-a qualified and experienced Electrician on behalf of our client to join their-facilities team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems across the campus. This is a vital role in ensuring that the college buildings and facilities are safe, compliant, and fully operational to support the learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and installations across college buildings.

Diagnose and repair electrical faults in a timely and effective manner.

Ensure compliance with current IEE wiring regulations and health & safety legislation.

Carry out testing and inspection of electrical systems, including periodic testing and certification.
-
Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
-
Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota (if applicable).

Work in coordination with other maintenance staff and contractors on site.

Support small project works, including refurbishment and upgrade works across campus.

Provide excellent customer service to staff and students.
Essential Criteria:
-
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
-
City & Guilds-Inspection and Testing qualification (or willingness to achieve).
-
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
-
Proven experience working in a similar role within a commercial or educational setting.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
-
Good knowledge of health and safety and safe systems of work.
-
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Criteria:

Experience in a college, university, or other public-sector environment.

PAT testing qualification and experience.
-
Knowledge of building management systems (BMS).
-
IPAF/PASMA certification.
-
First Aid at Work certification.
