Electrician – Social Housing (Reactive Maintenance)

Salary: Up to £45,000 per year (depending on experience & qualifications)

Build Recruitment are looking for a skilled and reliable Electrician to join a busy reactive maintenance team delivering high-quality repairs within social housing properties across North Hertfordshire, including Luton, Welwyn Garden City, Stevenage, and Hitchin. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician seeking long-term stability, great benefits, and consistent local work.

You will carry out day-to-day electrical repairs and maintenance within occupied domestic and council properties. The role requires a strong focus on first-time fixes, customer satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of workmanship while working in tenants'' homes.

• Carrying out reactive electrical repairs, fault finding, testing, and maintenance within occupied social housing properties
• Diagnosing electrical faults and delivering safe, effective, and long-lasting solutions
• Undertaking repairs to lighting, sockets, switches, consumer units, extractor fans, and other domestic electrical systems
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with current regulations
• Providing excellent customer service and maintaining professionalism at all times
• Accurately completing job reports and required certification

• Proven experience as an Electrician within domestic, social housing, or council property maintenance
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
• Testing and Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent) desirable
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work independently
• Good communication and customer service skills
