Electrical Installation Engineer / Electrical Supervisor
Location: Culham, Abingdon - Onsite
Pay Rate: -32.80 per hour (Umbrella - Inside IR35)
Contract: Until 30th September 2027
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer / Electrical Supervisor to support ongoing electrical installation and project delivery across a major industrial site in Culham, Abingdon.
You will be responsible for delivering a wide range of electrical works, including installation, commissioning, testing, fault-finding, maintenance and repair. You will also have the opportunity to lead installation teams and provide guidance to less experienced electricians and apprentices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and carry out electrical installation work across the site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to agreed timescales.
- Follow Written Safe Systems of Work (WSSOW) and all relevant health and safety procedures.
- Install indoor and outdoor electrical distribution equipment in accordance with current regulations and site standards.
- Construct, wire and commission electrical control cubicles and control panels.
- Carry out electrical testing, commissioning and fault-finding on control and distribution equipment.
- Lead installation teams and supervise electricians and apprentices where required.
- Plan and prioritise daily activities, allocating work to team members in line with project requirements.
- Work collaboratively with different teams and disciplines across the site.
- Identify and resolve electrical problems effectively.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and compliance at all times.
- Ensure electrical work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
Essential Requirements
- ECS Gold Card - essential.
- Proven experience as an electrician/electrical installation engineer within an industrial or commercial environment.
- Demonstrable experience working safely to Written Safe Systems of Work (WSSOW).
- Strong electrical installation, testing and commissioning experience.
- Experience in electrical fault-finding and repair.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing tasks.
Desirable Experience
- Previous electrical supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience supervising electricians, apprentices or junior team members.
- Knowledge of large electrical distribution networks.
- Experience working with electrical control panels/cubicles.
- Experience delivering electrical projects within a large industrial environment.
