Electrical / Mechanical Pump Engineer

Location: UK-wide travel HU3 Hull Base of Operations
Salary: -45,000 - -47,000 + Overtime + Allowances

About the Role

Our valued client is experiencing continued growth and is seeking experienced Electrical/Mechanical Pump Engineers to join their team. This is a field-based role working across the UK, either independently or as part of a two-person team, delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair of pumping station systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical installation of water and sewage pumping station equipment across various sites
  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing of pumping stations across multiple sectors (leisure, public sector, local authorities, etc.)
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults during site visits and call-outs
  • Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Communicate effectively with clients on-site to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Take responsibility for installations and supervise other engineers where required
  • Accurately complete job reports and timesheets using a mobile app
  • Manage van stock and equipment levels
  • Attend training courses and toolbox talks
  • Participate in out-of-hours emergency call-outs when required
  • Be flexible to work away from home and occasional weekends

About You

  • Minimum 3 years'' experience in pumps or similar mechanical/electrical systems
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Confident using hand and power tools
  • Physically capable of carrying out demanding site work
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and supervise others when needed
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety within engineering environments
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel and stay away when required

Desirable (but not essential)

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • 17th or 18th Edition electrical qualification
  • Experience in water, utilities, drainage, or wastewater sectors
  • CSCS card, First Aid, or Confined Space training
