Electrical Systems Engineer - USV Platforms

Our client, an innovative organisation within the defence, security and maritime sectors, is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to support the design, integration and testing of advanced Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) platforms in Fareham. This permanent role will focus on developing robust, marine-ready electrical architectures that deliver reliable performance in demanding maritime environments.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop electrical architectures for USV platforms, supporting mission-critical and auxiliary systems.Create wiring harnesses, power distribution networks and EMC/EMI-compliant layouts for marine applications.Select, evaluate and qualify electrical components, including power supplies, DC-DC converters, relays, connectors, sensors and protection devices.Collaborate with mechanical, systems and software engineering teams to ensure effective system integration and interface compatibility.Conduct electrical testing, diagnostics and troubleshooting, supporting bench testing, harbour acceptance tests and sea trials.Produce and maintain electrical schematics, harness drawings, bills of materials, test plans, technical reports and compliance documentation.Apply knowledge of low-voltage DC systems, grounding strategies, switching protection, battery systems and marine-specific electrical design.Support quality, health and safety, environmental and continuous improvement processes while working collaboratively with UK and international teams.Job ..... full job details .....
