About the Role

An Electrical Site/Project Manager is required in Plymouth for a temporary contract with a competitive rate and self-employed option. This role involves overseeing electrical packages on prestigious projects across South Devon for a respected M&E contractor. The successful candidate will manage on-site construction activities for sensitive Defence and MOD schemes, ensuring delivery is safe, on programme, and within budget. Responsibilities include driving performance, coordinating with the main contractor, and liaising with senior and commercial management. Strong leadership and quality focus are essential. A well respected, diverse M&E contractor with a project portfolio covering some of the South West's most prestigious projects is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to oversee delivery of electrical packages on projects across South Devon.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for managing the on-site electrical construction activities on sensitive Defence and/or MOD schemes. You'll need to ensure that works are delivered safely, on programme, with the budget in mind and quality at the forefront. Working closely with the Senior management and commercial team, you will drive programme performance and maintain strong coordination with the main contractor and wider site team.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day electrical installation works on site
  • Manage site supervisors, subcontractors, and direct labour
  • Coordinate with main contractors and other trades to maintain programme
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, RAMS, and site procedures
  • Maintain quality control standards and oversee inspections
  • Assist with testing, commissioning, and handover documentation
Experience & Requirements
  • You'll need an Electrical background with sound trade awareness
  • A proven track record in a Site or Project Management level role overseeing Electrical works
  • Previous experience of major projects/public sector schemes and working wiht Tier 1 contractors 
  • Good understanding of programme management and site logistics
  • First aid at work, SMSTS and CSCS
  • Due to the sensitive nature of the projects you could be exposed to, SC Clearance will be essential so the ideal candidate will have had this in place previously or should be in a position where clearance can be sought - to this end, we can only consider British nationals for the role as per site requirements.
