The Opportunity

A leading global consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join its growing Defence team, supporting the delivery of some of the UKs most complex and high-profile infrastructure programmes. This role offers the opportunity to work within a highly regulated environment, managing the commercial delivery of major electrical and MEP packages across secure Defence projects. Candidates will be considered for opportunities in both Derby and Plymouth.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the commercial delivery of electrical works packages from procurement through to final account.
Prepare and maintain cost forecasts, CVRs, cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete reporting.
Administer NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are effectively managed.
Lead change control activities, including compensation events, variations and claims.
Review and manage payment applications, subcontractor valuations and final accounts.
Support procurement activities, tender evaluations, commercial reviews and subcontract negotiations.
Monitor project performance against budgets and provide commercial recommendations.
Maintain accurate commercial records and supporting documentation.
Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, design teams and construction professionals.
Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks while maximising opportunities.
Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and supply chain partners.
Provide expert commercial advice across electrical infrastructure projects.
About You
Experience as an Electrical Quantity Surveyor, MEP Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, building services, power, energy or Defence projects.
Proven NEC3/NEC4 contract experience.
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing change control, compensation events and final accounts.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Eligible to obtain or currently hold SC Clearance.
