You''ll be joining an established specialist in mechanical and electrical engineering, delivering projects across industrial and critical power sites throughout the UK. The work is varied, ranging from larger installations running for up to 6 months through to smaller remedial works, so there is plenty to get involved with.

NO INDUSTRIAL OR CRITICAL POWER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

This could be a great fit if you have an electrical engineering background and have already worked within a project manager role, with the technical understanding to confidently manage projects from planning through to completion.

The role is predominantly office based in Havant, with occasional visits to customer sites and suppliers across the South of England to check progress, resolve issues and keep projects moving. There may also be the occasional trip to Italy to visit suppliers! Overnight stays are only expected occasionally – typically around 1 to 2 per year, with accommodation and travel provided where required.

The Electrical Project Manager opportunity:

• Take ownership of a varied range of electrical, M&E and installation projects across industrial and critical power environments.
• Use your electrical engineering knowledge to understand project requirements, discuss technical issues and work effectively with engineers, suppliers and customers.
• Manage several projects at different stages at once, keeping on top of deadlines, costs, resources and customer requirements.
• Work alongside a Project Coordinator to organise engineers, materials, suppliers and other resources, making sure each project is properly prepared before work begins.
• Act as a key point of contact for customers throughout each project, providing updates and dealing with queries or issues as they arise.
• Liaise closely with the engineering teams carrying out the work, using your technical understanding to monitor progress and help resolve any problems.
• Keep projects commercially on track by monitoring budgets, costs, variations and anything that could affect the original scope.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, including managing lead times and making sure materials and equipment are available when required.
• Identify potential issues early and put practical solutions in place to keep projects moving.
• Visit sites across the South of England when required to check progress, meet with engineers or customers and ensure projects are progressing as planned.
• Occasionally visit suppliers, including some travel to Italy as required.
• Make sure projects are delivered safely and in line with relevant electrical standards, procedures and customer requirements.
• Keep project documentation, programmes and relevant records up to date throughout each job.
• Be involved across the full project lifecycle, from the initial quotation through to installation, handover and commissioning.
• Build strong working relationships with the wider engineering team and contribute ideas and solutions as the business continues to grow.
