The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager or Electrical Construction Manager to join a building decarbonisation and refurbishment project in Bristol.

The project involves upgrading existing building services, including replacing gas boilers with air source heat pumps, removing redundant gas installations and upgrading existing electrical switch panels.

Working within an occupied building, you will oversee the delivery of electrical works, coordinate activities with the appointed contractor and ensure the project progresses safely and efficiently.

You will work closely with the client, building management and tenants, providing regular progress updates and ensuring that works are properly sequenced to minimise disruption to the building''s occupants.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical professional with strong project delivery or site management experience who can take ownership of the works and help drive the project through to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate electrical works as part of the wider building decarbonisation project.

  • Manage electrical upgrades, including modifications to existing switch panels and associated electrical infrastructure.

  • Coordinate electrical activities with the mechanical installation programme, including the replacement of gas boilers with air source heat pumps.

  • Work closely with the appointed contractor to monitor progress, resolve issues and maintain the project programme.

  • Plan and coordinate work sequences to ensure electrical and mechanical activities are delivered efficiently.

  • Monitor site activities, workmanship and quality to ensure works meet the required standards.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical regulations, health and safety requirements and project specifications.

  • Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates to the client and wider project team.

  • Maintain clear communication with building management and tenants regarding planned works, progress and potential disruption.

  • Coordinate activities within an occupied building, ensuring works are planned to minimise disruption to day-to-day operations.

  • Attend site meetings, identify potential risks and help resolve issues affecting project delivery.

  • Support testing, commissioning and the successful handover of completed electrical works.

About You
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager, Electrical Construction Manager or Electrical Site Manager.

  • Strong background in electrical installation, building services, refurbishment or electrical infrastructure upgrades.

  • Experience coordinating electrical contractors and managing site activities.

  • Good understanding of existing electrical installations, switch panels and electrical distribution systems.

  • Ability to plan and sequence works alongside mechanical contractors and other trades.

  • Experience working on refurbishment projects or within existing, occupied buildings.

  • Strong organisational, reporting and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage relationships with clients, contractors, building management teams and tenants.

  • A proactive approach to health and safety, quality control and programme management.

  • Experience with decarbonisation schemes, heat pump installations or building services upgrades would be advantageous.

Salary & Benefits

Permanent positions:

  • £70,000–£80,000 basic salary, depending on experience and level of responsibility.

  • Additional benefits package, subject to confirmation.

Contract positions:

  • £300–£350 per day, depending on experience and level of responsibility.

  • Contract terms to be confirmed.
