Electrical Project Engineer (Fire Detection and Alarm System project) / 6 months / Outside IR35 / Pharma Location: Newcastle Contract: 6 months Industry: Pharmaceutical / GMP Manufacturing The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to lead the replacement of a 30-year-old fire detection and alarm system across a GMP manufacturing facility. This is a project-focused role covering scope development, tendering, vendor selection and project delivery. Pharma/GMP experience is beneficial but not essential. We are open to engineers from other industrial, MEP, manufacturing or highly regulated environments with strong project engineering experience. Key Responsibilities Develop the scope and specification for a modern addressable fire detection and alarm system. Survey existing site infrastructure and identify project requirements and constraints. Develop technical packages covering fire zoning, LV power supplies, cable routes, IT interfaces and installation requirements. Manage the tender process, including technical evaluation and bid analysis. Work with Procurement to support vendor selection and commercial negotiations. Review vendor designs and technical submissions. Prepare the capital submission and support the project through delivery. Provide regular project progress updates and manage technical risks/issues.
