REED Engineering and Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering and Manufacturing company.Job Summary Responsible for the shift engineering activities and performance. Front line management of shift engineering technicians on own shift. Responsible for delivering both proactive and reactive maintenance activities in line with site priorities as determined by the Shift Engineer in conjunction with the Shift Manager. This role has elements of engineering management and direct ''on-the-tools'' engineering support. You will be highly motivated, with a ''can do'' attitude towards your work, as well as having a degree of flexibility to help meet business needs and market demands. You will be a major exponent of Health and safety practices, with a strong focus towards work quality and plant standards. This role will contain an infrequent rotation onto days to support training, development and other business requirements.Main Duties and Responsibilities Carry out both reactive and proactive maintenance activities, working across all departments: Melt Shop, Precision Forging Department, Conditioning Department, Precision Machining Facility, and the Test House (Laboratory). This includes work on Vacuum Induction Melting Furnaces (VIM), Vacuum Arc Remelting Furnaces (VAR), Electroslag Remelting Furnaces (ESR), various gas fired furnaces, Rotary Forge, Peeling machines, various precision finishing machines and a variety of other plant and equipment.
