Pertemps West Bromwich are recruiting for a hands-on, electrically minded Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced, automated manufacturing facility near Birmingham. The company operates a modern production plant with advanced machinery, robotics, lasers, and material handling systems.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in keeping the facility running smoothly. You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely to support continuous production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across machinery, robotics, lasers, and ancillary equipment.
- Perform fault-finding, repairs, and routine maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Implement and maintain proactive maintenance systems (PPM / TPM).
- Conduct root cause analysis to provide first-time fixes.
- Perform safety checks and adhere to HSE and LOTO procedures.
- Replace and repair parts (bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, switches, etc.).
- Adjust and test machinery performance after maintenance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process/equipment enhancements.
- Participate in emergency call-outs as required.
- Hands-on experience in high-volume, fast-paced automated manufacturing.
- Strong electrical knowledge, alongside mechanical and hydraulic skills.
- Experience with robotics (KUKA, Fanuc, etc.) is essential.
- Understanding of IATF16949 / ISO9001 quality standards.
- Flexible team player, able to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency call-outs.
- Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts: 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 / 22:00–06:00.
- Annual Salary: £42,387.
